About: Deracination
shows a ripped out root after a heavy storm in 2018. I fragmented the
photograph and printed it in black and white on 32 common sandpaper
sheets with different granulation. Because of the surface feel of the
paper the picture turns into kind of an uncolour and dependent on the
incidence of light it sparkles or not.
Deracination
is a personal work about loss and disorientation in many different
layers. It is a poetic approach towards the often brutal complexity
of inevitable upheavals.
The
sandpaper sheets are presented loosely on thrown away wood found on
the streets.
