Ich glaube, dass Heimat wandelbar ist und immer eine Momentaufnahme von Gefühlen und Menschen, die einen gerade begleiten.
Ich fand es spannend, mich fotografisch nicht auf eine beschreibende Umgebung festzulegen, sondern die von mir Porträtierten ohne Anweisung während des Fotoshootings sich selbst zu überlassen.
Entstanden ist eine Abschlussarbeit mit acht Porträts, die allesamt meine innere Ambivalenz mit dem Heimatbegriff als auch die Sehnsucht nach innerem Rückzug sowie einer Möglichkeit des Wo-anders-Sein-Wollens spiegeln.
Bis heute bietet für mich das Porträt in der Fotografie am meisten Interpretationsmöglichkeiten und gibt keinerlei Antworten – lädt aber wie bei andernorts zum reflexiven Nachdenken ein.
For my thesis elsewhere, I photographed family members, friends, and acquaintances from my hometown Tuttlingen and its surroundings in a photo studio against a neutral gray backdrop.
The concept of "home" has always felt more like an abstract emotion to me than a specific place, which led me to intuitively choose the placelessness of a studio. I believe that home is fluid and is always a snapshot of the feelings and people who accompany us at a given moment. I found it intriguing not to restrict myself to a descriptive environment in my photography, but to allow those I portrayed to express themselves freely during the photo shoot. The result is a thesis featuring eight portraits, all reflecting my inner ambivalence regarding the notion of home, as well as a longing for inner retreat and a desire to be somewhere else.To this day, I find that portraits in photography offer the most interpretative possibilities and provide no definitive answers—much like my project elsewhere, they invite reflective contemplation.
